Vinous Neal Martin - 05 Jan 23
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Chenevery 1er Cru was the last cuvée to finish its malo in May 2022 and includes 70% whole bunches. This is another one whose aromatics were stubbornly closed during my visit. The palate is smooth with filigree tannins and is very harmonious, perhaps just missing the same amplitude compared to the Faconnières on the finish. Still, it has a lot of potential and may be earlier drinking than its peers.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
